You flipped it?!? Holy cow.... Doesn't that mean you're banned for 2014?

Glad to hear the car was running better for when it was going, and that you didn't get hurt when you flipped. We need a Festiva to represent down south

    ---

We use a cheapo civic radiator but it's way bigger than the factory festiva radiator and we had to do some serious fab work to make it fit...

Ok that works Michael, I will be out of town from the 17th-20th of March for business though, just let me know. Glad you didn't really flip it and everyone was safe.

The reason I am not banned is because it happened on test and tune day not the actual race. Boy did Jay give me a lecture, but seriously it was just bad luck not so much dangerous over driving.

Huge kudos to Gorgonheimer!!! He was awesome on the track and off the track getting the boo-boos fixed.
Money and time...when you have a group of good guys working together on the project it diminishes load for one person. We will keep updating the site with our next race plans and ideas. We would love to see more Festiva or just hang with some FF.com guys in our racing paddock.

Did I tell you I no longer wish to race in a straight line ever again? Road racing is way more fun. Endurance racing is even better. So much time behind the wheel. Night of drag racing=45 seconds driving. Day at LeMons=1hr 45 minutes driving.

What kind of fuel consumption are you getting? (Hours per Tank?)

Any mechanical issues during the race? I'm happy to help work through any issues you might be having.

Also, if you haven't done so, I'd look at inspecting/replacing all brake hardlines and soft lines. We had no issues through our first handful of races, but if they're still original they will fail inevitably for sure. We were fortunate that our failure wasn't catastrophic, but that's something I'd recommend considering.

Are you running a Thermostat? If so, do you know what temp?

                  1. Gas consumption is about 4 gallons an hour.
                  2. We have replaced all the soft lines and both the front hard lines. Hmm, the back, original?
                  3. No motor failures this time. Burned a half a quart. We have a little vibration to sort out in the passenger side front.
                  4. No thermostat, just an aftermarket temp gauge tube restricting the flow a tiny bit. We are at 190-205 in hard driving using the stock radiator. If I shifted earlier into fourth it would stay at 190, but what fun is that?

I drove the car as hard as tires would allow, fuel consumption was the same.

We will be swapping to a g-series and removing solid motor mounts. I have more time now and can prefab some of this stuff before driving to where car is stored.

Also we are putting rear hatch back on.

Yea that's similar mileage to what we get but definitely better. We also for have some mileage differences between drivers. Ussually we range from 100 to 120 minutes per tank. So that's 5 gallons per hour on a real good day.

I would for sure run with the hatch on. We tried with it off and it was horrible! Any weight savings for sure would be negated by the extra drag. Not to mention breathing fumes is no fun

It was a rear hard line that ultimately failed for us. They can get rotted especially up around the fuel tank area.

We generally don't have rust problems in Texas.

Fumes!? Since I quit sniffing glue, racing has been my only outlet.

Yea, the hatch AND that awesome downforce wing on the top are coming back on. We are thinking hard about doing a Chumps race at the end of June.
