I was heading home tonight after filling up with some gasolina and i see a car pull out onto this 4 lane road in front of me. I hear this car get on it and its loud! so i down shift into 3rd and went by him after he tried to stay with me. I got by and saw it was a new blue rx8 with a loud exhaust (i found out from a friend its headers and full exhaust along with an intake) and rims. Go figure the light in front of us turns red and we pull up side by side with no one around. I can just tell he is laughing cause all he see's is a fat kid in a ford festiva with rims. he revs his motor and i just look at him with a big smile on my face. light turns green i spin through 1st and im going in second. we are about even (he actually started ahead of me but what ever) but i hit 3rd gear and BYE BYE BLUE, just like that he fell to behind my bumper no problem so i let off and went into 4th gear.

We come up to the next light and he rolls down his window with his girl friend in the seat and is like WTF IS DONE TO THAT THING!??! just after that he down shifts and going from about 20 mph (me in second) we gun it again and from a roll he had no chance i just took off and left him.

This was my first time i have ever gotten to go from a start against some one in the festiva! i was so happy it wasnt some stupid as honda civic or eclipse!... yes!

Awesome feeling isn't it. I love it when they ask what's in that thing. I always say just a little turbo then smoke them again.

The best is when you get to toy with them. Dust them then slow down and wait, then dust them again and repeat.

Ian , I am laughing so hard right now , as I read this out loud to the family .
That is great , I wish I could have seen the look on that guys face , all proud of his expensive RX8 , wanting to show off to his girlfriend .
And gets TOTALLY OWNED by a FESTIVA

i didnt even realize that rx8's had 250 hp and suposidly do 0-60 in 5.9 seconds :roll:

the 0-60 speed the dealership advertises is not one that most people will ever see in their car. That requires a tip-top maintained and fresh car, and not caring about any damage.

im just saying, plus he had a full exhaust and cai which does some thing. either way i was just surprised when i read that they had that much power and that factory time. i personally always thought they had lower numbers :roll:

Its even better when they say that they will sell there car/truck if you beat them and then you beat them by 4-5 cars. :twisted: (guy with a 4x4 ram 1500)

RX8's are slow cars,It is a good kill in a Festiva. Gota love that funny face and the girlfriend smiling @ you.....

from a stop they arent slow; 0-60 in 5.9 and im sure even crappy drivers can hit it in under 6.5.. from a roll they are slow but i ate him alive from the 20 mph roll.
