AutoCross...
what a blast.
First time out... I need TIRES!!!
I don't know the overall yet, but I wasn't very competitive, I just couldn't get the traction to the ground. The course was very very tight (at least that is what all the other drivers were saying) and I thought that would be a very good situation for the Festy, but over half of the pack were running slicks, and the others were on great performance tires.. these guys at this cross are serious... lol..
My tires are old and hard and just suck at A-X.. so it will be fixed as soon as cash allows. Smoked them out of every corner, just not enough compound, or width... will be remedied soon..
Still beat some pretty fast cars, and ran within 4 seconds of a 85 Vette with performance tires on it (course was high 50's up to a slow time 86 seconds, for a guy in an Outback)
I ran a best of 75.177, with the tires screaming for mercy....
I guess the good thing that each run was faster than the one before it.
I am hooked, and with some practice, and some decent tires, I should be able to run middle of the pack, and beat some pretty impressive cars...
The Festy really impressed me with how flat it handled, very little body roll with the KYB GR2's and FMS springs....
Here are a few pics , and a couple of the faster cars Sunday.
Video links to follow so you can HEAR how badly I need tires..
