I have been reading the site for a while but have never posted but I figured others should see my car so here it is.

I am from Ottawa, Ontario and have owned this car for about 7 months it’s a 1990 Festiva Lx , I never really planned on owning a festiva but I found this one for sale down the road from my house for 200 bucks with 150 000 km, news brakes and a new exhaust system. It was sitting for 4 years but still ran very good. When I brought it home I started to look it over and found a mouse nest in the air box. I bought the car to use it as a field car and was just going to beat it around the fields and have some fun with it because I didn’t have my license yet. But after driving it awhile I decided it was a good car and to only half beat on it so it has a chance to survive until I get my license. Most of the time you couldn’t see what colour my car was because it was covered in mud. Well I didn’t really like its original white colour so I painted it Tremclad yellow. I also added a set of hood pins, painted the grill, side-moldings, bumpers black and put on the cheap window tint I got from princess auto for $6.99. Since my car is now black and yellow I have named it the “ Lil’ Hornet ” and it displays that with pride on its hatch. Since it gets driven around fields sometimes it gets stuck and has to be pulled out by the tractor but it pretty good at holding its own also I ran over a log and put a dent in the bottom of the gas tank (o well it costs less to fill now). I am hoping to some day put a b6 in it, but the stock motor has such low km’s I am going to keep it stock for a while. The tires are almost completely bald and cracked by weather, but I bought a set of 4 brand new kumhos for $50 from a lady who had them in her garage but never put them on her car so she decided to sell them. Anyway I ended up getting a great car, for a great price that is fun to drive and work on.

Wow a 90 LX has to be one of the more sought after cars for options. That would be a great car to fix up and not beat the daylights out of it field riding it.

It dosent have to many options just a split-folding rear seat, the headrests and a rear hatch with defrost and wiper.

^And power swoopy mirrors, and I'll bet a tach dash . Ittermitant wipers, tilt steering, possible power steering there were lots of 1990 only options available on your car. I'd buy the mirrors for a good buck and give you another set to put on the car.

tach clusters were never available in Canada, i'm not even sure about intermittenmt wipers, tilt steering or power steering, all those options i have yet to see on a canadian festiva
