hi my name is mike and im addicted to festivas lol.... anyways this is my story. i was on youtube and saw that vid for the 300hp festiva, and i was hooked. then i looked on craigs list and saw how cheap they where... i got even more hooked... then i found www.fordfestiva.com and did a bit of reading, and there was no turning back lol. i had no money and no job so i was broke. i had to save up money from birthdays, xmas and the rare job from around the house to get enough money. then one day i saw a MINT 1990 lx festiva in aqua sitting in a service shop. i went in to look at it and he said that it was for sale!!! but then the bad news, it was 1000 bucks which was cheap for a mint festiva... but i did not have enough money. it sat there for about a year and i drove past it every day i went to school, it was hell.... then my mom said that for my birth day she would paty the rest for it, we went down there and it said the we would like to buy the festiva out front and the guy says that i was a day late... it was sold the day before.... then many days past, and then some months past. then one day, an add came up on craigs list, i went to look at it and to my amazement it was another 1990 lx !!! it looked good, smelled good and ran good. so i said ill take it! now finaly i had a festiva!!! i went to pick it up and as i back out of the drive way i hear that there is a bad wheel bearing... i was thinking "i just bought a big pile" but thankfuly that was the only thing wrong with it. when i got it home the mods started to add up. first was the aspire swap on the front to fix that bad wheel bearing. then a bunch of little things like map lights, muffler delete pipe, intermittent wipers, auto console, smooth tail lights and power door locks. then some of the big mods started, like the headers i built, the rear part of the aspire swap and my home made gauge pod. i had no money to put plates on it so it just sat in my drive way. then i got a phone call about a job and before you know it, i had a job i put some plats on it and was happy to finaly be driveing my festiva but i was not happy with the amount of light... so i put some fog lights on, a bit better, then anothe set of fog lights, a little bit better.... then i got mad and just went out and bought some big 6 inch rally lights and put them on the roof with roof rack that came with the car... that did the trick... that about sums up my story about my festiva. so now some pics of zippy, the sasquatch mobile!!!
the engine bay. the silver thing to the left of the intake manifold is a elec. bell out of a 1962 plymouth fury. to the left of that is the air horns. and yes you are seeing right... that is a elec. switch box on my intake... it looks a bit weird but it works good.
a close up of my headers.
and with all my lights on... it looks dim but the are very bright at night.
and a shot of its friend. its not mine, im holding it here until the spring for AMOS.
some of my "big" planned mods for it are bp and then a turbo add on, rear disks off of a escort gt, roll cage, coilovers and more lights... thanks for reading.
