There were 3 entries this month:

    SIBladerunner
    And myself, Damkid

    Here's tbird302v8's entry:

I found that one on autotrader and drove 4 hours to find out he didnt take pictures of the drivers side because it was all bashed in. So I bought the car anyway. I was mad until i got back here 4 hrs. later and put 4 gal. of gas back in, then i was happy more on that later.
Then about 6 mos. later my friend was looking for a car, and I found this one! It was on a "Car lot" which was pretty much a dirt lot with junk piled all around it, and a plywood sign spraypainted, sayin "cars for sell" , Im not making that up . The "salesman" was your typical, Fat, bald, greasy, polyester wearin, 2 teeth, "graduated" 30 years ago but still wears the letterman jacket he stole from someone else, and wears gold chains with everything because its cool guy. My friend actually bought this car from him. by the way the guy said it ran great no problems, and didnt really want to sell it. YEAH RIGHT!. The car ended up litterally using more oil than gas, Im not making that up, all the tires rubbed, and were different sizes, some flat. EVEN HAD DESKTOP COMPUTER SPEAKERS WHERE THE INFINITY SPEAKERS ARE NOW!! So now my friend is stuck with this "lawn ornament" festiva and has no money to get another car. He ended up going to Iraq(we do that regularly around here) and came back on emergency leave for a death in the family. He didnt have a car to drive back home to Miss. so i told him I would sell him my red '89 for whatever he could had at the time and trade him strait across for this one, just tryin to help him out. so i got a couple hundred bux for my red car that ran like it was new by the way, and got this "Gem" in return. no big deal I had a GTO to drive to work anyway. so over the next year, I slowly put it together in my spare time, got new tires, struts, coilovers, stereo, real Car speakers, a head unit that is worth twice the blue book of the car, a new fuel injected BP, converted the car wiring to accept the new harness, new clutch, cleaned and polished her up, to what you see now, a nice festiva, but no Ferarri. My friend still drives my old '89 and has done nothing but put gas in it. we recently retrofitted it with a supplemental Hydrogen setup. he now gets 50 MPG average. Dont think i left anything out, but thats pretty much it.

Right now the ole' girl has a 6speaker CD/MP3 stereo complete with Sirius Satellite radio. I also added a few more gauges so I know what the new motor is doing. She runs pretty good, and I can't wait to finish the project. Still on the way are a turbo, seats, cage, glass and a suspension/brakes transformation. Thanks for looking.

The new power plant after about 2Kmiles.

      And my entry (Damkid)

Originally posted by Damkid View Post
When i was 16 years old my parents had a 1988 festiva L 4 speed, and a parts car which was a 1990 Lx. When i did get my license a year later me being young and stupid i wrecked the 88' and the 90' LX got fixed to become the new daily driver. once i was able to afford my own insurance the 90 LX became mine (Freshtiva - you may recognize the drivers fender)

After a year of driving the 90 LX the motor basically died on me so as i was pricing out a new engine, my parents took it upon themselves to buy me my Green 93L, all i had to re-pay them was what i was willing to pay for the price of a new engine, these pics were taken shortly before it was given to me

Not long after i got the car i removed the factory decals and put my own on, i found a set of rims for it, made some custom clear taillights for it, and some other various cosmetic changes to it and this is what i came up with

This was the first decent stereo i had in it, 2 12' MTX's that hit 138 DB

But then i upgraded to this, 2 15" solo barics that hit 143 DB

then i found a spoiler and made a custom hood

And a 180 kph tach cluster (no tach clusters were available in canada) and it works well

i had accidently broken my custom taillights so i found a set of kia pride taillights

Later i joined FF.com (the best thing i've done with festivas to this day) and i learned what performance upgrades i could do, so i started with the aspire swap (which i had to lose the wheels i had)

And next was a BP swap which made this car do 16.0 in the 1/4 mile with a slipping clutch and terrible stock suspension

Along the way i picked up a set of wheels for the aspire bolt pattern and the only current pics i have of my green festiva are with my new to me B6T festiva

So this is the story of how i came to own and upgrade my green 93 L BP festiva
