                        There is my offical entry:

I would like to nominate my car Linda Blu for August FOTM. Linda is a 1990 L Plus. It's my lowest mileage festiva. I bought it from the original owner a couple of years ago. The POs name was Linda in case you are wondering about the cars name. Linda the PO, owned this car for almost 18 years before selling it to me. They contacted me about buying it as they felt I would give it a good home. It hasn’t sit outside a day in its life that I know of. Ive put about a thousand miles on it since I acquired it about two years ago I believe. This festiva still has the new festiva feel to it. Everything works perfectly. You can check out the option package( which includes factory air conditioning ) on the original window sticker You can visit Blu's brand new Cardomain site at the link below.

                        http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3102208

Many of the upgrades Ive make so far can be found in this thread.

                        http://www.fordfestiva.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=13997

                        They include:

                        1. Rear window wiper/washer installation
                        2. Cargo light and latch switch installation
                        3. Window and door handle chrome trim added
                        4. Dual power mirrors added (NIB GTX mirrors )
                        5. Mudflaps added
                        6. Dome light upgrade
                        7.variable speed intermittent wipers added
                        8. Swapped out factory Stereo w/o cassette for Stereo with cassette
                        9. Added Festiva L Plus decal as the car had none, also added the FordFestiva.Com donation decal.
                        10. Dash clock
                        11. This car will be getting a silver swoosh strip sometime maybe.
                        12. Have bought a cargo cover with hardware for this car.
                        13. I have a hatch spoiler that will go on this car when I get it painted to match.
                        14. Put some factory alloys on it.

Linda had some problem mechanical when I bought it and they have been repaired.

Right rear spindle nut was stripped. (I think someone didnt know about the left handed threads.) Don’t know how I kept from losing the wheel. Replaced front wheel bearings. Replace an inner tie rod end. Bled brakes. It had little braking power as first. The fluid had been changed but the system was not bled apparently. Blu needed a left front fender. The moderator of this fine forum had one for me. Thanks Kid !!!

                        Some other upgrades:

Custom hand made L plus decal, my own color combination

NIB 323 GTX Fimilia power mirrors

                        Car domain shots :

That’s all for now but I will be updating this entry as the month goes on. Its a lot of stuff to write up in one day. I will have it complete by voting time.

Thanks for your consideration as August FOTM !!! I really enjoy working on my festivas, I usually cant wait to be off work so I can work on them.. I have many future plans for this and my other festivas. Hopefully I should have enough to keep me busy tinkering with them for some time to come.

Marcus needs some competition so I'll enter the 89' so there's a vote at least..

Here's my entry, a 1989 Festiva L. After I bought Old Red my dad got bit by the Festiva bug again, They had 2 festivas before, that is how I got into them. We had been looking for Festivas locally and on Craigslist for a while, and had no luck, then I pointed this one out to my dad a few times. It had been for sale on Craigslist for a few months already so we weren't sure if it was still for sale now, but it was. So we called the guy and met with him, took the car for a test drive then bought it. We drove it home the same day (175ish mile drive) and it ran great. I haven't done too much to the car, just cleaned it up some and added a few things to it.

Here it is the day we bought it:

And here it is a few months later..

                                So far I have:
-Popped out some dents from the P.O. hitting deer
                                -Replaced the broke corner light
-Replaced the broken drivers side mirror (Thanks Levitan!! )
-Replaced the grill with a new one (now switched to a 90-93 style grill)
                                -Installed map pockets
                                -Installed a passenger side mirror
-Replaced the hood with a dent free one
-Painted the bumpers and side moldings black
                                -Painted the wheels black
                                -Installed 12" trim rings
-Touched up some of the rust spots

Here are the latest pics of the car

Well, thats my entry.. I know it's not much to look at but it gets the job done
-93' L BP swap/e-series, coilovers, RIO front swap, redrilled festy drums, Miata 14" 7 spokes.
