I have a 89 GTA 350 tpi and a 1961 Bel-Air restore 385 stroker. So I get home and somehow this Festiva is stuck in my head. I figured ah what the hell Ill go ahead and go for it. I get to the guys place and check out the car. He takes me out for a spin in it this thing runs like hell, drives squirly I drive it also and I'm like omg death trap I love it!! So I get the guy down from $750 to $350. I buy it (I was in love or just being stupid or combo of both) and have my dad trail me in my truck to take it to my shop. Next day the title is put in my name at AAA.

So far I vacuumed it, spruced it up a little bit, Redid the brakes and I like to say that the front rotors are awesomely fun. re-grease the bearings. Rear seat delete, cap, rotor, plugs. I think the engine is going. The valves are going I put a piece of paper up to the exhaust pipe and it sucks it in. Also in low rpm under load it pops/misses bad when warmed up. 107,700 miles 1.3L lousy 63 hp maybe half that with my potential valve problem and about 10ftlbs of tq lol. no check engine light on or anything. But she will scream like no other hit those high notes with ease.

So I am going to the BP swap with it. I have been reading up and I am mechanically confident in achieving this goal. Along with the help of FF.com This project will start as soon as my Firebird is off the lift.

Now look what I got myself into I'm excited to modify a festiva. I'm glad this site is here or I would of just field beat the thing till it died.

It started right up.The a/c was'nt working as stated so they knocked off $100(I have since then, charged the a/c and it blows cold). So $900 and 800 miles later, she was in my driveway. It went though 3 or 4 tanks of gas,a container of seafoam(to clean tha fuel system),A container of 4cyl restore(218,000 miles on her.But made the trip without a wimper. On top of that,Someone had added a Sears cruise-control system to the little beasty at some point in the past.Amazingly enough,IT WORKED!!.She runs good and is my daily driver. It's a 1988 LX.It has a/c,tilt,cruise,power mirrors, power brakes, tinted windows,5 speed trans,12" factory alloys, panasonic cd player, aftermarket slport steering wheel,LeBra,roof spoiler, driving lights

I recently picked up this '88 LX for about $400. My Mom and I drove 60 miles south for it. It has 195,000 miles on it and it doesn't leak any fluids. It has a little rust in front of the rear passenger side tire. The best part is it has WORKING A/C! I have been cleaning this thing for the past week and it looks 100 times better then it did when I got it. So far I have taken the seats out and washed the seat covers, they were almost completely black. I took out all the interior plastics and cleaned them with soap and water. I also took out the carpet and cleaned it. So far I have replaced all four struts, the spark plugs, I took the wheels off my '90 LX and I got four brand new Kumho tires for them. I got new Timken wheel bearings for it and it will get those soon. When I got the car it had some nasty old purple window tint on it so I scraped it off, the car has Factory tinted windows. It does not have the underseat tray but it does have the Cargo Cover! I'm really glad that the LX interior isn't all torn up and is in really good shape now that I have cleaned it. Just today I used some Bondo Bumper restore and redid the red pinstriping on the bumpers. I have been driving this thing everyday and I am getting 32 MPG with the A/C on.

i saw it driving around last summer and thats when my offical search for anther festy began.

after a year of finding NOTHING exacpt a single over priced 88 5spg with 225k mi on it was driving home from work when i saw a teal one with no plates in my gfs neighbors yard (hes a dealer). so i knocked on the door. his fater answered and asked how he can help, i gave him my number and said to have the owner call me SAP!!!

4 days later i got a call, so i went to look at it, 77k mi, auto, needed an exhaust and a vaslve cover gasket. he said 850 as-is so i jumped on it. passed inspection and so here she sits.. iactually just put her on the road tyoday and unfortunately after 6 hours of driving it, a jeep hit me.. techncally i hit him, but we were both at fault.

i love this car, and i have MANYYY plans for it. i already have a full system, i plan to fo a 2" exhaust or 2.25" with highflow cat and a subtle can (not a ricy one). tinting the windows tomo and i ordered fms springs.

this car is my baby, and im going to be sure not to make the same mistake tiwce.. this car is here forever this time around. i actually wish i could find my old one just to buy back

anyway here a single pic and a pic of the damage today, i will upload more pics tomo from the system and interior and rear

she will be fixed not to worry
