I Challenge Maxtiva to a FOTM Showdown :evil4::evil4::evil4:

    Here is my entry

My festiva started its life as a simple stock 1990 LX, then in 2001 a guy name Fred got his hands on it, a year later he completed the second known B6T swap in a festiva, he did some really cool stuff to the car, like installed a B6D head/intake onto the B6T block with a comlete standalone system etc. and ran a best ET of 13.3 @ 104mph..... here's a pic

And he installed some sick suspension, plus an aspire brake swap with cross-drilled and slotted rotors

I believe it was around 2006-07 he had given up on the project and pulled the engine and all the engine management set-up and sold the car to Adam (Sleeper), Adam started collecting parts to put the car back together but didn't have the time to get his B6T installed and running, so thats when i bought it in spring 2008 and took over the project

Here's a few pics from the day i got it

It took me a while to get the B6T up and running again but i got it back on the road in spring 2009 and have been punishing the tires ever since, my best time with it at the track with the B6T was 14.5 @ 98 MPH

As fall 2009 aproached i got my hands on a Probe GT tranny and started experimenting with the internals with a goal in mind to swap in a KLZE, i was successful in swapping the differentials so the Probe GT tranny could accept Capri XR2/323 GT axles and make the ZE swap possible without having to get custom axles

    Here's the link for details

And then i got a KLDE for free for mock up

    and it barely fit

Then it was full steam ahead with the first ever KLZE swap

    The ZE

    And then wiring.....

And this is the very first start up, i had major vacuum leaks and there was many things not connected, but after 3 months it was enough to hear it fire

Then after some more work/tweaking it was starting to run better

Then after tracking down the final vacuum leaks i got it running very smooth

So i had to take it for its first short drive

And a pic of it sitting fully completed

Here is the link for my full V6 build thread
Members Builds (questions about repair or how to do something belong in the proper forum)

After driving it for a while i took it to the track and ended up with a 14.2 @ 99 mph

Although in that run i broke my tranny

So i started tearing it all back apart to start working on adding a custom intake with a water-to-air intercooler, an HX35 turbo and a megasquirt standalone my goal is to have it completed for spring 2011 and have around 400HP :evil4:

and here's the link to the turbo build in progress

    Thanks for looking

Oh man... two Canadian entries? How ever will I choose? These two cars are probably some of my favourite build threads on the whole board...

You ask for a challenge so here we go

Back in September 2005 I bought my Festiva from an old lady with about 125 000 KM on the clock for 1700$. In December I got an accident with an ambulance who hit me hard on the passenger side. My insurance company rebuilt it for 2156$ (Yes 2156$). In November 2006 I bought a 1994 Escort GT with the idea of doing an engine swap but I put the project aside because I was thinking I was not such a good mechanic. In May 2007 I got a second accident, I hit a buck on the driver side of my beloved Festiva. Since I already bought my bumpers, sideskirt and spoiler, I decide to rebuild it again. In August 2007 I decide to go ahead and make the swap. Since I’m in Canada and finding a 323GT is really hard (and we don’t have Capri XR2 in Canada) I decide to do the swap with the Festiva tranny. After putting the BP in the Festiva and doing the wiring, I decide to start the car but the tranny was in 1st gear and the differential start to spin and broke the tranny case. So I was in need of a new one. I bought one cheap from a guy who own 6-7 Festiva but this one had a broken fork so I bought one from a junkyard for not so cheap (300$ or so). In December 2007 I decide to buy a G5M-R tranny with both axles and the precious halfshaft from Brian (25HORSEPLAY) and Chris (Damkid) bring it in Canada for me. Chris was the 1st member from ff.com I met and he’s not the last one. But I put this project aside because I didn’t have enough time and not enough knowledge to do the swap. After that I start to study about the G25M-R swap. In August 2009 I was in need of a BP for an other car so I bought a newer engine (74 270 KM) from a 1994 Protégé and I swap the new one in my Festiva. During this month I also met Karl (fordfestivaa) a local member from ff.com he is a bodyman and a good mechanic. I ask him if he want to do the bodywork on my car and he accepted. Not so long after I bought the brake from a 1995 Aspire. A few month later we start disassembling the car for a big makeover. During the time my car was in Karl’s garage I decided that I would swap the tranny for the one I bought from Brian. In January 2010 I made a roadtrip of 2200KM at Chris place to get my new carbonfiber hood and I also take a rust free gas tank and a Festiva sunroof from him. In March 2010 Kemp (muscle_Car1) was selling some BP26 goodies so I had no choice but to buy it. So my plan has change again, let the turbo fury begin. In August 2010 I start the car for the first time since October 2008. Since then I have solve the idle problem and the hiccup the car had and I’m now driving the car everyday. Every parts I have put on my car were cleaned and/or painted.

Both of you guys have really nice Festiva's, both Red (for Christmas), both have good builds. Wow, talk about hard decisions!
I'm thinking though that Max having to rebuild the car twice, might give him the edge? IDK.
