I like all of you guys! If ever I get cocky (highly unlikely) and have quietly adapted a BP, or maybe a practical VW TDI, I will get in on this contest. Until then it's much more fun seeing what other folks are up to.

I use to have a 93 festiva in high school when I sold it I cried. The guy I sold to wreck it , I almost threw up. I was so determined for another I drove 8 hours and towed the "sweatstiva" back home. 1992 5 speed no a/c . Payed $1300.00, I got ripped off, it wasn't even running. I wanted one so I bought it. I changed engine with a 97 aspire played with engine bought parts spent money but was determined to make it run. Finally running now I jumped with excitement. And yelled, it's alive! I am so proud of it and never let it go.

A few more pics I just took of the sweatstiva
And by the way did I tell you no rust in the car at all.

This pic makes it so much better with my wife in the car with me.
It is nice to have a wife that supports your festiva addiction.

                            My Festiva:

Back when I was a Festiva/Aspire nut before, a friend came to me with a 1990 Festiva that needed a clutch, and he was willing to sell it for $50. At the time I had 2 Aspires and an '88 Festiva, and seriously didn't have anywhere to put it. My brother-in-law had been looking for a fuel efficient car, as he was commuting 70+ miles/day in his Mustang GT. Arrangements were made, and he purchased the car in June 2005.

He replaced the clutch, and drove the car every day for about a year, before as it got to the 200,000 mile mark, it started leaking pretty bad out of the bottom seal. Well... Half off weekend at Pick'n'Pull and we went and pulled a B3 out of a '96 Aspire that only had 56k miles on it. (Rear end damage). He took the Aspire engine to an engine shop and spent about a grand getting EVERYTHING redone. It received new pistons, camshaft, etc. He was driving a Festiva that he was $1200 into, but was basically a new car. He continued to drive it until early 2011. He got a better job, bought an ION Redline, and the Festiva needed new bearings, so he let it sit. Well a few months ago, he took a job hauling water on an oil rig in North Dakota. He bough a new grand cherokee. That same week his HOA was giving him a headache over the Festiva sitting there. He called me, told me that it needed tires, and it needed wheel bearings, but if I wanted it, it was mine for $300. I JUMPED at the opportunity to get back in the Festiva game, after WAY too long of an absence.

                            As it sits:
                            -1990 Festiva L
-BASE model: No trip, No tach, No rear defrost, No passenger side mirror.
-It DOES have the lower square box under the stereo in front of the shifter.
-ODO reads 243k, so It has about 40k on the rebuild.
-It has a Pioneer head unit stereo, and Pioneer 4" speakers all around (Soon to add some BOOM)

                            Since I bought it:
                            -New Gray/Black Seat Covers
-New blue oval steering wheel cover
-New rear bearings, inner and outer.
-13" Corolla rims with MEATY Hankook tires
-New passenger side lower control arm (ball joint jumped the cup while I was driving)
                            -New Passenger side CV axle.

Taking advantage of a guy who parked in two spots:

                            How it looks NOW.

                            Since I posted above:

                            -New rear shoes
                            -Yokahama 155 65r 13 tires
                            -Sony X-plode 222w Amp
                            -JL Audio 8" sub
                            -New seat covers

                            Now with RACING STRIPE!

New pedals, shift knob, boot, and painted dash panels/speaker grills white!

                            NO overcompensating here!
