This is my 1993 festiva. My brother bought it for me for my birthday. When I got it, the hood was crushed and the grill and headlights were broken and/or missing. I found a hood from the wreckers and I had a small collection of random headlights laying around. The headlights are from a mk2 golf so I made brackets to hold them in. I added a light bar and hood straps to finish the look off. Because the hood was off another car the paint didn't match so I found some chalk board paint and went wild with the hood. I love this car. Power mirrors and a rear wiper, what more can you ask for!

My Festiva named Jean ( Grey )

Here is my 1990 Festiva. My build thread can be found here http://www.fordfestiva.com/forums/sh...gect-Pheonix-D. I call her Jean because the I called the build " Project Phoenix " so Jean is from Jean Grey of the X-Men. I got this car more than 8 years ago and drove it for a little while but due to engine damage that I could not fix at the time, she sat un-loved for some time. About 3 years ago I started to look seriously at the forums for ideas on my car and I came across Matt Dickmeyers threads and called him up and ordered nothing but the best for the upper end of my little car. since then I have spent way more money on the engine than most people would put into a whole Festiva but I wouldn't change a thing.

Anyways, here are a few quick pictures for this thread.

Here is a link to the entire photo album http://imgur.com/a/Z5gAg if anyone wants to see just all of the pics from the build thread.

Mine isn't that great but I would love to enter for February... dad has the better of our two Festiva's... I can't decide, but one thing I can say, my birthday is coming up soon!

pics will be added later today or tomorrow

My dad's car came from a place only about 45 min away, and 2nd owner drove it to us! he bought it from the first owner after her husband had horded it for about 12 years sitting... he died before he picked it up... had to be gutted and cleaned. It had 40,xxx miles when we bought it... was an "L" model, a 1991 with just the $200 or so AM/FM w/o Cassette (2nd owner installed a basic am/fm/cd/aux unit) and a rear defroster that doesn't work.... he doesn't care, his first Festiva didn't have the defroster. Really the only thing we did was buy a new battery, replaced the fuel pump, bought new 12" tires they had never been replaced in 25 years and added a Festiva.com sticker... been working fine ever since... he paid about $2500 for it including tires

Mine came from the same place, but a different owner, we are the 2nd owner of that car it had 90,xxx miles on it when we got it and since put 13" tires on it, fixed some miner body damage and painted the affected areas, replaced the engine and put a festiva.com sticker on it... it is a "GL" with an automatic transmission

If you want to know anything about one of the cars, feel free to ask, I can pick one later based on unanimous vote!

My car when I got it....

        My car now....

        My tires....

        Dads car

        Dads tires....

          $35.00 Dollar FOTM!

Well hello all, my Festiva is an 89 L carby all stock. I bought it from a coworker of mine back in 2004 who drove it for a while before it broke down on him. So it sat in his moms yard for some time before she told him to move it. That's when he told me i could have it for 35 bucks! At the time i had an 88 white LX model that had some bad rings and was smoking pretty bad so my intentions were to buy his and use it for parts. Well i got it home went to checking it out and the only thing that was wrong with it was the pin in the end of the cam shaft that turns the timing belt gear sheared off. So the gear was turning with the belt but the cam wasn't, well needless to say i replaced the pin timed it back up and it fired right up! I've been driving it ever since, i gave the white one to my brother who trashed it but mines is still running strong after three different color changes, grey to blue to red, an engine replacement, an engine rebuild and a host of other upgrades!!! Well that's my story hope you enjoyed it and the pics.

Similar story all, my father bought the car from a friend in 1995 and at that time being 12 years old i hated it saying that this wasn't a cool car, but as i got older and started driving it i gradually started to love it, esp when i was beating some of my friends with "cooler" cars. Sadly though my father does not know how to care a car even if his life depends on it and even though this was the strongest of all the cars he had own it too eventually started showing signs of bad care. My brother even tried to save it once by getting it a bodywork and paint job, but my father the human recker still get to work on it smh. Now fast forward to some thirteen years later the car was abandoned for about 2 years prior at a garage beside the sea shore, being that i was studying and working plus with my love for over the years i decided too to save the car. Now when i got it the entire flour was rusted out, the b3 engine lick bearings, carb was shot etc, i said its makes better sense to just get a next engine, when i bought the b5 dohc but when i saw how big the engine was both the mechanic and i taught that the engine was too big for the car. When I swapped the engine and tried to get the car to me, the axle fell out three times on route because they didn't install it correctly, it was turning to the right when you stepped on the brakes with a straight steering, because my father placed different size brakes (as in one side bigger than the other winning) the seats where all busted out at times my friends had to sit on the flour in the back smh, the rusted head lights couldn't shine passed 3 ft, when my brother saw it he said it only now needs a box of matches and some gasolene, i agreed but i had the love of a mother for this car, I don't want to love no other car like this ever again fun times, still a working progress but now people don't know how bad it was now for the pics.

            Had to change the bonnet

            trunk too

            Running board

Spotted by a racing magazine at a track meet

This is actually 5 years later after the spray job, still caring her, she now name Kia Nalatalee Pride my first wife (African marriage lol) she got the middle name from my friend who says it reminded her of a little bright girl that gives a lot of trouble in her class lol.

            JAMAICA TO THE WORLD
            I don't complain, i just come plain.

My '98 Ford Festiva. Not much done to it except the air intake, wheel dressings and tail light tint. She is getting a cat back exhaust system soon! ^_^

Edit: I should post the story behind it.
My Nan owned Betsy since 2000. In 2010 she was diagnosed with Cancer. The cancer slowly spread throughout her entire body, plus the chemotherapy made her bones brittle. She lost the ability to walk (and drive) one and a half years ago so she handed me the keys as I was on my learners license and didn't have a car. Six months ago she passed away. Ever since she gave me the car I've maintained it religiously, getting repairs it needed and washing it once a week. I have to admit that I've hooned in it a fair bit. I blew a Skyline away at the lights but then he caught up like 500m later. Lol. Its a great little car! I made a few minor cosmetics mods and an intake mod but that's about it. I'm getting a better exhaust system in a month or so. So excited!

This was a tough vote. Lots of different entrants had stuff that I liked as well as stuff I have on my own car. Too bad we couldn't take them all for a test drive.

This is a hard one. Great entrants, as usual. Good background stories. Your are all winners, in my book.
