We wanted a crazy project last summer and this is what we came up with. She has been great to drive around town, gets all kinds of looks. People just giggle when we have to climb out of the car (no doors anymore). We even took her on a 1400km road trip and camping when we attended Westiva event last summer. Over all she is stock, yet shortened by 22 inches. We replaced the rear struts, master cylinder, CV axle and exhaust. She's a fun little buggy rolling around on Bias Ply snow tires !

Theastronaut's car
My car is an '88 L that I found at a local flea market for $700 bucks. I'd never considered owning a Festiva but I had blown the engines in two of my daily drivers and needed to find cheap transportation until I got my other cars back together. It ran and drive very well so I bought it. The stock suspension and 12" tires were horrible though so I wanted to drop it and upgrade to 14's. I found this forum and Charlie's "Advance Suspension Mods" topic and was blow away at how well his car handled. I copied his suspension and found 14x5.5 Escort/Tempo wheels that fit the look I wanted. I refinished the side trim and bumpers to clean up the exterior appearance.
I've put 8-9 k miles on it since last July with zero mechanical problems, still gets low 30's around town with my foot to the floor, and it ran within two-tenths of winning its class at my first ever autocross event. It's been a great car and I can't wait to take it to the next level with an engine swap, stickier tires/wheels, and weight reduction.
BrianLiska's "Nastiva" aka "Arpaio"
Entering my 93 NASCAR Festy AZ car with 107k. It's a big hit on Twitter with the NASCAR divers and I got to meet Martin Truex Jr, and Landon Cassill this year at PIR! Best part about it was they knew who I was off the internet because of the Festiva! Now Iam hooked and have 2 more Festys an aspire and XR2 for future parts for upgrades! Can't wait to meet everyone at FM10!
