Congratulations Lulu! Carby car locked down a spot in history.
May as well throw Carby Car in the running and give you a little competition!
Purchased this little guy in Feb of 2012 from a junkyard ready to crush him. He's an '89 carby that came with everything original--nasty tan interior and a solid 4 speed. This is the day I brought him home:

All it needed was a new master cylinder and brake work, and we soon had it running. Carby car was so gross, I couldn't handle it, and started cleaning and upgrading. I customized my door cards first thing:

Finally got him nice and decently clean, and drove the heck out of it for a few years. Replaced the 4 speed with a 5 speed I dropped from the junkyard myself. I've tried to do as much work to this car as I have been able to do by myself. I've changed an alternator belt more times than I care to think about, done my own water pump, and tried to keep on top of maintenance. I even did fiberglass patching on my floorboards with a little help. Interior got upgraded with some custom made seats and visors made by a dear friend.

I love this car more than is probably acceptable. It's gotten me everywhere I ever needed to be, and taken me all over the country without hesitation. I've put nearly 90,000 miles on it and would love to put that much more on it again. I'd even park it in the house if I could. Unfortunately, the rust fairy has visited and soon I'll have to take my much beloved car off the road. I'll be taking Carby car everywhere I can until that point, and compiling a list of our excellent adventures. We are all about that Stiva Life!
