    My Festiva Pepe!

Had it 11 years! Got 368+ on the odometer! Put a factory spoiler on it, 14" aluminum mags, had the engine rebuilt, a 1,450 watt stereo system installed, 2&1/2" exhaust with a single chamber muffler & high flow cat, vent visors, seats reapolstered in black/grey vinyl, Ford Escort dome light, carbon fiber vinyl hood......

I'll throw in my new '89 L. I found it on OfferUp about a month ago, listed as a "three cylinder five speed that got 45-50 mpg"... ended up being a neglected trade-in at a used car lot that didn't know much about it. I had been driving my '88 Chevy dually daily since my '88 Festiva is apart for an engine swap, so I bought it to save gas.

With the help of a friend we swapped the Advanced suspension from my '88 onto the new '89 the same day I bought it, I did a quick alignment, and took it to the Clemson Sports Car Club autocross the next day. Ended up running 22th out of 52 cars during the timed runs, and I took another 1.2 seconds off my best timed run during the fun runs. Not too bad for not knowing the car very well.

I pulled the interior and pressure washed the seats and carpets, and super cleaned everything else while it was apart. The muffler was rotted out when I bought it so I picked up some tubing and a tractor muffler, packed the tube with sand so it wouldn't collapse while bending it with my Harbor Freight pipe bender, then finished it off with a Walmart 22oz stainless tumbler as the exhaust tip. The ghetto fabbed exhaust was a big hit with the Sloppy Mechanics page on facebook... Also added a tach cluster from Firebush357.

I still need to clay bar, buff, and wax the paint to make it look it's best. It's been a great daily driver over the past month, and I'm glad to be back in Festiva.

my entry is luna/aka luxstiva V2 its my 89 unicorn b6d+t swapped that im slowly adding all the accessories i can think to add to it. so far ive autox and drag raced this car and its a blast to drive even though it still has the stock suspension and crap tires

now anyways ive been a forum member for about three years now and this is the first time ive entered the FOTM. however i though id share how i found the forum.its a short story but the chances of it happening is low. anyways back in early 2015 i bought my first festiva for 600$. i seen it on a facebook yard sale site and i had to have it, ive always had a thing for small cars and i love hatchbacks, however it was rotted out and ran for crap. it was an 88 base (and i mean base) model car, well like a day after owning it, it caught fire, total loss
well the very next day i was going to pay my dads car payment for him and they just happened to get a festiva in on trade and i fell in love all over again i paid 530$ for that one. that festiva was a 89L carbed and it ran like a top. it just happened to have a fordfestiva.com sticker on it so it had to have been a previous forum members but i could never find out who. thats how i found out about the forum and ive been a member ever since....... fast forward 2 years and now i bought my current festiva (im probably leaving alot out but heres some cool pictures )

Here is Wendy, 1993 L model with no options. It was a small miracle I even found her, not too many ever show up on kijiji, it ran so I bought it. I swapped over Aspire things first, including the motor met Damkid and decided to put a Probe KLDE in it, but changed my mind and went BP. In process of doing that I cobbled together coilovers with cut Tein springs, mk3 vw coilovers up front, Maxima KYB struts and vw coilover sleeves and springs in the rear. Sold to Aaron Slawicz so I could buy a volvo...and once I got that out of my system I had the opportunity to buy her back. Currently in the process of installing a 3800 supercharged motor from a Buick Regal GS in it, only mods to the chassis was welding in 3 captive nuts. Mounts are done, wiring is 75% complete. Fuel lines, brake lines, accessory belt, exhaust and brakes are getting overhauled. Coolant system is a surprise.

            New in the festy world.

Entered the festiva market in Nov bought a 90 festiva that is from onree on here in Nebraska. It's a pretty clean car, no rust, good interior, good running engine car. Looked for a while to find such a nice car. I cleaned it up with a wax job, repainted the wheels and smoked the taillights, performed a tune up, added a newer radio and speaker's. Looks pretty good, I get lots of comments on this little car. Have had metros and vw rabbits in the past. I was looking for something different this time to have as an extra vehicle to cruise around town in. Not sure if there are any plans for it yet or just to drive it. Here are some pics!
