That's right, it's time for the first Festiva of the Month for 2018!

A quick write up outlining the story of your car is required, along with some Pics!

I would recommend using Imgur to attach photos.

If anyone needs help with that, feel free to send me a PM!

    Good luck Everyone!

here is my 1990 Mazda da 121. Excuse the mess on the inside I'm waiting for it to cool down here in Aus before I remove the tar sound proofing.
It has no name, I bought this car instead of getting a head gasket fixed on my old Subaru. Initially I just wanted a cheap daily that I wouldn't care about and that was cheap on fuel. It had 200000km on the clock.
I immediately fell in love with how fun it was to drive, so I scoured the interwebs to see if there were any people modifying these things for even better handling and found the best car community to be a part of. Anyway, using the knowledge from the forum and facebook page I have done a few things to this since owning it.
    Fully stripped interior
    Racing steering wheel
Civic short shift and dbz knob
Swapped seats out for the lighter 89 model seats
    Auto rad
    Removed ac
Got rid of the home job black roof
    Tinted windows
    Festiva front bar
Pre facelift grill (looks better imo than the later styling)
Nissan r31 skyline alloys 15x6+30 on 175/50 tires
    Advanced dynamics suspension
    Lil straight pipe exhaust.
Think that's about it so far. Oh and the main fuses
Still can't figure out why my heat doesn't come out the face vents though. Is that just mine?
Thanks guys for the wealth of knowledge that is openly shared through this forum

1993 gl. Factory engine and trans, 327,659 miles on the clock. Working ac, touch screen double din tastefully relocated to the cubby location. It's got a sunroof, roof rack, vw coilovers, aspire brakes, mercury wheels, grant 10" steering wheel, 87 Plymouth horizon seats, short shifter w/ period correct aftermarket knob. Oem festiva mudflaps, power swoopies, spoiler, dash clock, and a tach! Almost everything was found at the junkyard on different vehicles and repurposed for my festy. With the exception of the coilovers and tires which I bought new. Been a fun build so far

That is the way they were designed for some odd reason. You only get heat from the Floor and Defrosters

As Harrison said, this is how they are designed from the factory.

You would have to ask the Mazda engineers for the reasoning.

Its because the air that comes out our festivas vents in the winter is so incredibly hot that it would burn your face off. So as a safety feature they didnt allow it to blow out those vents.

Ah yes, Festivas are world renowned for their incredible heat

They sure are. In fact the big oil companies funded a study that claimed the heaters from festivas were causing global warming. They wanted festivas taken off the market because of it, but the real reason was their so fuel efficient the big oil was scared they would become popular and they would lose sales.
The world health organization said that festivas were a mild antidepressant and therefore should be kept alive.
Both sides presented their case at the climate summit in Geneva in '90. I was with the WHO, we arrived in a chopper and landed under heavy sniper fire from the big oil companies.
We each presented our case and the festiva was allowed to continue sales but the accusations tarnished their image and sales were poor. The name was changed 3 years later to the aspire but people never forgot and those sales were poor too.

Heater output was reduced for the efi models because of it.

                            Good times.
