  • i do not know who is right

my brothers van a 1998 windstar needs a driverside door.
pnp computers say only a 1998 door will fit.
another jy said 96 to 1999 will fit in which i trust them also since i am a regular customer. now the rub i would hate to buy a door that would not fit and the pnp door a 1996 is about the same color so we would not have to paint it. is the pnp computer accurate? has anybody else had any problems with pnp interchange or other jy interchange?

well they have a 30 day money back gaurentee atleast here they do. if anything take the van up there, ask them if you can take the door out to see if it will fit and see if a guy would walk out with you so that they dont think you stole it tho lol.

Chances are that it's the same door, but there are differing option codes, based on year. Most people's programs aren't that exacting.

Might be different interior trim levels too...

I would never shop there then.

That is totally unfair and BS in my opinion.

If I'm not mistaken They made the drivers' door larger on the 1998 models to permit entry on the drivers side, until they could introduce a second sliding door the following year, when the driver's door reverted back to its previous size. So the drivers' door may be unique to that year.

a 99 will not fit. a96-98 should fit, though. 99 was the new body style.
