  • Anyone know anything about Salvage Title, VB2 Auction?

I just bought a 1995 Saab 9000 that was salvaged and sold at VB2 auction. (I bought it from the guy that bought it at the auction) He gave me pictures of the car that show no damage, and when I inspected the car it showed no signs of repair. The rear driver quarter panel was worked on but is very minor, and long ago.

What do they do at the VB2 action? How does it work? What kind of cars do they get?

Does anyone have a login and willing to look up my car in the archives and save me the webpage or send me the info? I'm an in the know kind of guy, I like to know the history on things..

The owner that sold it to me said he had to replace the engine, but I do not see how the insurance company would insure/salvage/fix a car with engine damage which usually completely with the owners control.

    Thanks.

my buddy worked at copart if you want i can pm you his number, basically copart gets cars that where totaled out by the insurance which if its an older car and lets say it worth 5k and like you said the quarter was hit and needed new bumper and new tail lights and at the cost of oem parts and paint and labor it was over a certain percentage amount they would total out the car and just give you a check and then copart would offer to buy the car from the insurance and in return copart will sell cars and parts to Dealers only, that how i understand it. like i said my buddy worked for the one in elgin for quite some time

I would appreciate it. I would like to look my car up in the sales archive, or get more pictures of it. It wasn't salvaged from the quarter panel hit. That was a long time ago. I do have two pictures of it from when it was at the auction. I would appreciate the number or any info. I'm curious by nature

            Thanks for the info packrat.
