  • Put the New Festiva to the Test

I just got back from a two day 700 mile trip in my Festiva. I used to roadtrip in my '92 5 speed all the time, but with the 4 speed I was a little more wary of interstate speeds.

I'm pleased to announce that the Festiva could not have done better. It seemed right at home at 70-75, and did just fine above 80 whilst passing a few trucks here and there. Even at those speeds with the AC on, and only one overdrive, the car still averaged 37.2 mpg. I think we can safely put any Festiva roadworthiness doubts to rest.

I put that doubt to rest in my mind about half a million miles and six festivas ago. Any reliability issues too.

I like my car in 4th gear too... It likes the 100mph zone though in that...
