  • A Moment of Silence, Please.

A moment of silence please. Another Festiva is off the road, I believe, forever.

Saw what looked like it had probably been a beaut of a red Festiva today rolling through town on a rollback. Virtually nothing left of the car behind the front seats. It, and I guess the car that hit it were both on the same rollback. Don't know what this says about me, but was so busy looking at the Fester, didn't even notice what the other car was. If I had not been going to help another tech, I would have followed and shot some pics of it.

Tho, dispite my overwhelming sadness, couldn't help but wonder what might be salvagable on that car. Have to call the local boneyards and find out where it ends up.

That sucks...I'm sure most have been turned into scrap metal too. If there are 3% of total produced left what percentage of those remaining do you own freshtiva? (A little word problem for you)

God, I hate math. Can't we all just agree Fresh doesn't have nearly enough festivas??? Just like the rest of us???

I hate to see Festivas off the road forever, especially since my first one was destined for the junkyard when I bought it. Exactly how many Festivas is 3% to 5% of total production? 10,000 or so?

There have been discussions about total productions numbers before. I don't think anyone knows. It would be interesting to know.

Somewhere, I'm sure someone's done some figuring in what percentage of old cars are left on the road. Maybe not specifically for Festivas though. We'd have to find the general numbers and figure out whether Festivas were average, below average, or above average in longevity.

My guess is they have been below average, but will become more "above average" as owners like us save what's left.

Oh, and as gas prices rise!

that would be cool to know how many were produced, one way to get an idea is put the last 6 #'s of the VIN and see who has the highest (but i wouldn't really wanna post my VIN #)

                      1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
                      1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?
