  • The 7 hour ride home from FF07!

Well going to FF07 was a 3 hour driive to get there. But on the way home, I was traveling with PU241 John. We stopped at Kabbages house to pick up some parts John was buying and headed for home around 8:30. We get just about through Detroit when traffic all comes to a stop on I-75. We are on a very long bridge Approx 2 mis long. And at the other end of the bridge there was an accident where a semi truck hit a van at the off ramp. The Semi caught fire and burned to the ground. The only thing left of it was the frame and engine. Even the trailer was burned so bad it sagged in the middle. Well to make a long story short we were stuck in the middle of 4 lanes of traffic for just over 3 hours, there was no place to go being it was on a bridge. We made it back to my house just before 4 this morning.

You would have been OK, it was right after the bridge exit.

It was backed up for approx 3 miles because after that they must have detoured the traffic. You could look back and see they was no more traffic coming. But thre was no way to turn around on the bridge, we were in the middle lanes. All we could do was sit and wait.

                  No, no naps!
But was giving some thought to "watering" the land below the bridge!
But fortunately it didn't come to that!

You know I just thought of this, where to you think we'd have been if we hadn't missed the Toledo turnoff!
With the traffic, I don't believe we would have made it past the wreak!
I wonder if we might not have come much closer to it, possible too close.

We might have been too close for comfort! Things happen for a reason!

                      Glad you guys are okay!

I think I had a slowdown before leaving Detroit, but nothing major. Maybe ten minutes of slow traffic.
