hey whats up everyone, my name is jeremy and i have a escort auto and want something fast. first thing i thought was honda (lol nah joking), serious 1st thought was a small car with a quick engine. did the search and figured the festiva with a b6t engine would be dangerous and just surprising....

i can get my hands on the festiva and an b6t engine but honestly know little about cars overall, i change oil, coolant, and thats about it. There are different sites saying its a direct bolt on but i know there is way more then that.

i really want the car with the swap but i kinda feel that i am way over my head. If i get the car and engine, i could get a shop to do it but thats just 1000$$ waste of money. I know you all have experience with the swap. JUst nneed your honest opinion before i even attempt it,

I had an '89 Escort two door hatch with an automatic and the high output 1.9 CVH engine. My next car was a bone stock '92 Festiva 5 speed, which was actually marginally faster, more efficent and more all around fun than the Escort. I've never done a swap and cannot comment on the difficulty, but for my money a stock Festiva is leaps and bounds superior than a stock Escort, and a swap, when executed properly can only improve a Festiva.

Get the festiva. Try to take out the engine. It that proves difficult then pay a shop to do the swap. I don't mean difficult as in parts stripping out, I mean difficult in the process of trying to figure out what to do next.

Cause there's always the wiring and mounts to worry about.

If your skills are limited why not buy a B6T Festiva already done. There are a couple available in the For sale section at prices that are fair for what it would cost to build one.

i agree with horseplay. did the research on it and with my work load it would better for me to purchase a turn key b6t festiva.

isnt it over 4000 a car???? i only have about 2 gz. My plan is to get the festiva, learn how to drive manual (yah i dont know how) for a few months and doing that time span get all necessary parts like radiator and engine..... it seems real difficult if everyone is saying just buy one swapped.

Where are you located, I know where you can get a totaled protege with a good engine and tranny (BP + Automatic) for free :-) That would solve the standard issue, however it is alot of work to do any engine swap, but if you have the time, and have a daily driver you can work through it no matter your skill level. 2 years ago I had almost know mechanic knowledge, now I drive a nicely modified festiva with a BP + G25mr tranny and Hydrolic swap. Very fun, and fustrating to learn at the same time!

For a first time swap, do the basic, relatively easy to do B3 to B6. You gain 19 hp, more torque, and a lot of learning experience. You should be able to find a 323 in Hawaii.
