  • List Every Car You've Ever Owned

We did this on a Taurus Form I'm a member of a while back, and it proved interesting, and I'm curious to find out what non-Festivas we've all had. Post your own list if you are so inclined. Here's mine

1989 Chevrolet Cavalier 4 door, 4 cyl, automatic- A hand-me down my dad bought new. I totalled it as a wide-eyed 16 year old.
1989 Ford Escort Pony 2 door automatic- Slow, cramped, built poorly, I didn't keep it long
1992 Ford Festiva L- Bought it for $100 replaced the clutch, drove it for a year, and sold it for $650. I still see it running around now and then
1988 Lincoln Town Car- The anti-Festiva, and a very slow V8
1993 Ford Tempo 4 door 4 cyl automatic- hated it, barely drove it, the escort was better
1997 Ford Taurus wagon- OHV V6, another family hand me down that has and continues to serve us well
1989 Ford Festiva L-my addiction continues

7 cars in six years of driving, that's respectable, right?

196X jeep 4?spd- my dad bought it for me. It was fun as hell driving around on his hills. he sold it to a jeep junkie.

1984? vw rabbit diesel 5?spd- again dad bought it for me as a first car, only if I had good grades(didnt happen, but drove it to friends houses when he was at work  ) he still owns it. for sale if anyone wants it

1998 ford escort zx2 5spd- my mom got it for me for my first car. drove it without a license then my friend blow the tranny out of it. my mom sold to ex girlfriend after repairs, then she wrecked it. poor car

1994 ford probe gt 5spd- I bought it for 400 bucks. The cam was snapped, I was gonna drop a klze in it but I really wanted a mustang. Got lazy and parted it out and made 475 doing so.

1991 festiva 5spd- I bought it and its the first car that I drove LEGALLY on public roads LOL. Still have it and love it. It had me down in the dumps for the past month but Im getting it inspected this tuesday.

1987 mustang lx notch 4cyl auto(only auto I have owned )- paint was faded and I had a 302/t-5 in it but got lazy and bought the next car.... and sold this one. I really wish I wouldnt have the car was excellent, no dents, no rust except for the trunk lid. Thinking about calling up the guy I sold it to and asking if i can buy it back.

1988 mustang lx notch 302 5spd- I had money and wanted a mustang to drive, so I bought this. It needs work and now I want to sell it.

67' Chevy Van - manual, "3 on the tree", what I learned to drive in. I smelled gas one day due to a fuel line leak. Was going to fix when I got home. Never made it, started on fire 1 block away from home.
72' MG Midget - Still have, 18,000 miles
      2 x 78' Chevette - BAD cars!
      80' Chevette
90' Festiva - don't own anymore but it's still going with over 320,000miles
      91' Festiva - still have
95' Plymouth Neon - VERY BAD car!! worse than the Chevettes! The last Chrysler I will ever own(unless I get a Viper someday )
      99' Ford Escort Wagon
01' Toyota Sienna - Recently acquired.

Also had a VW beetle somewhere in there for a bit. Can't remember what year though. Late 60's I think.

        1988-1993 Festivas 4 ( 4 cylinder to 3.2 sho engine)
        1969 Fairlady Z ( 2.0 Japan spec engine)
1970 Opel GT ( no engine yet , next project)
        1977 Dodge van ( slant 6)
        1986 Merkure ( turbo 2.3)
        1998 Chevy Truck ( 305)

        1982 Chevy Monza ( 400 Small block)

I havent purchased anything " new off the floor" im a long time. Got tired of paying for something that lost 10% of its value soon as you signed the contract.

Now I pick up cars with about 18,00-20,000 miles on them and save 20-40 Percent. I let some one else take the hit.

anybody know were a low milage crossfire is hanging out??

1961 VW Bug. This was my first car. Got it for free with both front and rear damage and I turned it into a Baja Bug. Bright orange with yellow and red flames. Big bored the engine with a Weber carb. It was a screemer.

1973 Ford Courier PU. Painted this one Corvette Yellow.

1983 Honda Civic SI. Black. First model year of the SI. My first new car. Sold it to buy a truck.

1987 Toyota SB 4x4. Bought this one new also. This was a great rig and only required a T stat replacement over 70,000 miles of ownership.

1991 Isuzu Trooper. My first and ONLY Auto transmission rig. Needed to upsize for our growing family. Bad head gasket at 12,000 miles replaced under warranty. Bad fuel gauge also.

1988 Mazda 626. Bought for my wife. Great car with decent (38 mpg) highway mileage. Went for 200K miles and then she blew a coolant line and ran it till it died.

1987 Mazda RX7. Fun car but I could not get it to pass emissions. Bad apex seals??

1987 Mazda B2000 Ext. Cab LX. Still own this great little truck. In storage.

1996 Mazda Protege DX. My wife's current car and another good one. 180,000 miles. Her only complaint is no AC!

1991 Festiva L. My current driver with 368,000 miles on the odo. Bought with the intent to convert to an EV, but my budget would not allow it. Worked it up to the great car that it is today.

1990 Festiva L plus. Recently acquired "parts car". Maybe this will be my EV platform?!
            1991 L 408,000 miles+ w/NEW B3 longblock!!

1999 Ford Windstar LX. She fit all my bikes, got laid in it, and drove me everywhere. Then the powersteering went out..just flushed, so my brothers sold it.

1995 Ford Tauras Wagon. got it for 1500 and i put it through hell and back. probably put about 20,000 in little less than two years, think i cracked the block cause she dont run no more..(Video coming soon of blowing her up, if someone needs parts from it, let me know soon!)

1988 Ford Festiva L. I once made fun of these cars, my music teacher in elementary school had an aspire, and we'd make fun of his "buy one get one freer" Later i find myself completely in love with these cars, and am very happy to own a Festiva, and i never want a big car again after having those two big guys, well, maybe a truck..
              no more festy..

'70 Dodge Dart, 4 door, slant 6, and drove like a dream! I still miss that car. I sold it after I got hit and the hood was torn off, then the master cylinder blew, then the alternator went out for the third time, and a few other things I can't remember. Its been a while. Paid $300 for it. It was my very first car.

'75(?) Doge Dart Sport, 2 door, 318, and sucked gas like a maniac but boy could she move! Unfortunately as gas prices started to rise, I found myself needing something that was a little more efficient so I gave this one to a friend (still makes me mad she just let it rot in a yard) and bought my first Festy!

'88 Ford Festiva GL. The first Marvin. Drove that little guy for 5 years. Changed his alternator twice, his carbuerator once, many oil changes, tune-ups and other repairs here and there, but nothing that would ever make me not love a Festiva. I took that little bugger on some of the most amazing drives, used him to haul loads that people told me he couldn't do, and even slept in him on many a camping trip. His engine got very weak after the rebuild though and since I was doing a lot of long distance travel I decided to give him to a friend. Dumb, dumb, dumb. I regret that to this day.

'98 Chevy Cavalier. Pretty, reliable, had a big nose. I totaled it in a rollover accident while living in Montana. Poor little thing. She was really battered after that. Rolled 2 1/2 times and came out with no major injuries. A couple cuts and some whiplash, but nothing seriously broken. She was a tough little girl.

'88 Nissan Maxima. Bought her for $100. Had bad brakes, tires, cv axles but she ran and since I was desperate for a car after my accident, I went for it. Even with the money spent on repairs it was worth it. Had her for 2 1/2 years, ran her up over 300,000 miles and she was still going strong when we sold her. I see her puttering around Ashdown on occasion still.

'93 Ford Festiva L. Marvin the Second. Bought as a replacement for the Nissan because it was so much more gas efficient. Oh how I love being back in a Festiva.
                :cat:
Proud former owner of a shineee blue '93 Festiva L. Marvin will be missed.
