my exhaust ordeal today

well i took the car in to have the cracks in the down pipe welded, 32 bucks to do that,

and before they started they said that everything from the manifold back minus the cat and muffler/tailpipe after muffler, needs replaced, said that theres a flex plate on the pipe before the cat and thats froze up??? time to get some pb blaster it sounds like then lol. and wanted 182 bucks, not a bad price but dont have that much money to throw into it atm lol.

but it has more off the line power and is quieter than before,

well see if my CEL comes on tonight going to school though.

You need a minor repair , but they want to do the whole thing , and will guarantee it if you don't :x

ya, i know but thats most shops anyways lol, i just told them to weld it, and im amazed at how quiet and how much more power it has off the line now.

If you're going to end up spending that kind of money anyway, find a shop that will put together a bigger exhaust system for you. I have a shop I use here that will pretty much put something together for $200, and that's with bigger pipes, fabbed from scratch.
