  • ok so what mags do you guys read?

ok since ownign a festiva i am at a very werid point in my life i use to be Mr V8 all gung ho no 4 cylinder compares to a v8 now im at this werid transition in my life where im kind of turning into a ricer..... im use to reading car craft hot rod and muscle mustangs oo and 5.0 and ford any ways now im trying to find good mags with parts and tech articles, are there any mags to cater to mazdas? so i usally i pick the one with all the riced out cars and big turbos on the cover so i got the Modified one and im reading it in my librariry (the jon) and one of the cover cars is a 400 whp srt-4 well im like thats cool then it gives his specs lots of money and for numbers it says 423 whp ( which is crazy for a 4 cylinder) but it only ran a 12.99 at 116 mph?!?!?!?! why so slow? i mean if that was a mustang it be in the mid 11s. im not kiking anyone i would have thought those number would be better. are those cars heavy? im guessing myabe alot of traction issues? i thought srt-4 with some mods moved pretty good. these are just my thoughts (discuss)

How much torque does that SRT4 make? I'd say he has traction issues, and maybe turbo lag also, as it takes a big snail to make an extra 200-250 whp...
The left lane? Are you crazy!!! I never drive in the left lane...It's full of freaks driving the wrong way and charging right at you!!!

Woah nice!!! With that torque and psi, he's defenitely got a big turbo, so yes, traction and turbo lag issues!!!

I usually stick to Sport Compact Car for good tech info. Super Street for bling. I try to stay away from Modified cause I think its just a ricer mag.

Popular Mechanics, US News & World Report, The Amazing Spider-Man, and Astonishing X-Men.

Really, with so much automotive resources out there for free on the net, paying for car mags is kind of like paying for porn - there's enough of it out there for free.

Not that *I* surf automotive websites or anything . . .

Hot Rod, Car Craft, Automobile, Grassroots Motorsports....that's pretty much it these days. I do have a long history of reading Macleans, Time, Popular Mechanics and Popular Science. Oh, and I used to buy Omni when it was available.

                            ^Ha ha.

I read second hand Hot Rod and Car Craft just because they're the ultimate low buck DIY types. THen I'll maybe pick up a paintball magizine just to see new gear, but mostly find that out on the net because mags are usually a few months behind.
