96 ford aspire

Hi, I have a chance to buy a 96 ford aspire red, the odemeter(sp) doesn't work but the last reading said 185,000 miles and needs shocks and the muffler isn't the best.
5 speed and she says the engine doesn't leak oil and she want's $300 obo
How many miles can you expect to get out of it and what would be a fair price for it?

That's a really good buy... as long as the engine is in good shape. Test for compression, if possible. That should help give you an idea of the motor's comdition. If the body is decent, and the tranny shifts smooth, I'd say go for it.

Where is this car located? Maybe I'll come buy it from underneath ya!

Bottom line: You can definately get your $300 dollars' worth out of it. If it dies, you can post it on this forum, and someone will probably snap it up for the suspension swap. I know I've been keeping my eyes open for one.
