  • Freeway speeds?

For those with tachs, I was wondering what the stock 1.3L auto revs at doing highway speeds. (110kmph 65mph) My girlfriend just got a festiva and it sounds like it's really working on the highway. Not sure if it is or if it's just me. I'm used to bigger, quieter cars, just wondering if it should be so loud?

    Thanks.

3 Speed auto will make more louder than manual transaxle, but yes it may be normal make noise from engine once over 3k rpm about at 55MPH. Get best silent muffler may improve better.

while were on the subject of autos, is there any 4spd auto that can be directly bolted up to improve economy? Maybe from all the g25mr donor cars(capri, 323, etc)?

My auto did about 38-3900 @ 72 with 155/85-12's. I'm pretty sure though it has been a while since mine ran before it got the teardown treatment.

thanks, I'll see if I can find a old tach I've got buried in the garage and see what this one's doing.

my 1.3 auto is a 97 but prob the same gearing its doing 3400 at 100km/h or 62mph and at 110/69 its doing 3700
the gearing changed slightly when i put 14" rims on it
