  • I got a new motor

Thanks to Stefan, i was able to get a B6T this past weekend. I was trying to get pics of it but my basement is really dark and all you see in the pics is black.
I took the wife "shopping" on black friday. We went to Canada and got the motor for $200. I got:

    B6T engine
    GTX tranny
    engine wiring harness
    VAF
solinoids and sensors on the bracket that is on firewall
BP ECU (He had a BP that he got rid of and didn't need the ECU)
HKS turbo timer w/ harness for GTX
    GTX muffler
    brand new engine stand
    GTX intercooler

I thought all that was a good deal for $200. I have to find an ECU and the knock box. I have a lead on a ECU, so I am almost done. Finding a G-series tranny with axles will be tough, but I will look. North Dakota only has 650,000 people or so, so finding stuff can be tough.

I was able to also go to my first u-pull-it yard. That was neat. We don't have any near where I live, so I had to drive to Winnipeg to go to one. I was able to find a hood for the festiva, and grab some small parts for other vehicles.

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

There are a couple of interesting cars for sale in Calgary right now. One is a Mazda Famillia GT (BP-T, AWD, etc.) the guy just got it here from Japan a couple of months ago. That one's $7900.

The other is an 86 (?) 323 GT sedan. Very cool little car. Not sure on the price though. I think it was around $4000.

I'm wishing I had some cash right now, there's a 94 Escort GT for $500, and a 94 323 for the same price as well.
