Is anybody registered at hotrod.com? A kid got a festiva and asked about improving performance. Somebody replied ... "Sorry to say, thats not a car that has any performance following. You could try a cold air intake, ported throttle body, things like that, but you are pretty limited."
If nobody here is registered I'll have to regiter to straighten that guy out and help the kid along. he needs a link to ff.com!

OK I couldn't wait. Here is my post....
Actually there is a huge cult following for festivas. Try fordfestiva.com. Two schools of thought there. One a 300,000 mile average lifespan (I personally know of 2 with over 500,000 miles) plus 40 - over 50 mpg plus cheap insurance, tires, and parts plus very simple to work on equals major bang for the buck. Basically very similar 0-60 and mpg as a prius and costing about $500 usually. The other school of thought is hey, I have a 1600 lb car. What is I add a little horsepower? The festiva is a mazda designed kia manufactured car assembled with almost all mazda parts. The motor is a b3 (1.3 liters 65 horsepower) The b6 in the mazda 323 and mercury tracer (1.6 85 horsepower) is a near direct bolt in and makes it even more fun to drive. The b6t from a mazda 323 gtx and mercury carpri is a turbo ride that will really get your blood moving. The bp from the escort gt, mercury tracer lts, mazda protege, and kia sephia will scream. Add a turbo and you will outrun almost anything.
here is a 304 horsepower festiva.....
Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

    this a festiva with a b6d eating a 240sx

Here is a Turbo Ford Festiva beating a mustang rouch,Srt4 neon,Z06 corvette,This one was scared to line up vs the flea..Evolution won this time.......The festiva has a b6t out of a mazda gt/gtx,Mercury capri..

Come on over to fordfestiva.com I am carbonvmax there as well. We would love to help out a fellow festy owner!

I want a cold air intake for my Festiva. Slap an AEM badge on that puppy and that's like 100HP right there.
