  • FYI, turn signal/wiper switch assy.

The orange lettering turn signal/wiper switch assy. will not interchange with the white lettering assy. The headlight switch is wired differently.

This has been posted time and time before. There is a way to convert, but it's pretty time consuming from what I've heard.

FWIW - if you switch from white (newer) to old, you still get SOME functionality, just not all of it.

Correct on the swap , but I took both apart and used the orange lettered delay wiper handle and swapped it into my white assy.

Yes , a little mis matched , but all I wanted was delay wipers .

If I would have just used the orange assy . I would have not been able to keep the warning buzzer , when the headlights are on . That is what that wire is for , from the head light assy.

So that is why I used only the orange delay handle , to keep the wire .

I am switching my orange lettering on my new 89 to white lettering from my old 91. So all I have to do is make up this jumper, plug it in and everything will work?

          Thanks

          David

jumping the wires worked for me but then the parking/driving stay on even when you turn the headlights off. i have to manually connect the wires when i want the lights on and then disconnect them to turn them off. i know it has worked for other people besides freshtiva though. probably depends on the years.

you know the switches are still available new, at least some are. Standard motor products lists them. so if you can find a parts house that uses standard motor products you should be able to get them.
