If y'all are interested in this, go look on www.fordsix.com for a thread labeled 'water injection', and another on 'vaporized fuel'.

some of what he pedals is sound and usable (heated fuel, water vapor injection), the rest of it is pure crap ("power coils")

It seems to me not long ago I watched an episode of Mythbusters, where they tested this, and the car wouldn't even start. Let alone move.

On the other hand, they appear to have spent a considerable amount of time and money on their scam.

from what i have read an engine can be run on water (split via electrolysis into H2 and O2, IIRC), but several major modifications have to be made first. I've worked on a Chemist's car (he's a professor @ a local college) and he has a small system rigged up where it simply supliments his gas (has a tube running off of the jar w/ the water in it into the intake) and swears he gets 60mpg, as apposed to 35-40 that he used to get... it seems real enough to me that i was planing on trying it a few months ago, but never got around to it. idn about doubling your MPG's, but seems like it should help increase a little. Of course you may have problems with your O2 sensor and stuff..

there are a few articles floating around the web on this stuff, some of it sounds more "real" than others.

                        testimonial

My Water4gas unit I have on my car is working. So far I have noticed a jump in mpg from 24ish mpg to 30ish mpg I am running it on a 2005 Nissan Sentra. I also wrapped several layers of tinfoil around my Oxygen sensor, doing this will trick your O sensor into thinking it is to hot which will affect how much gas/oxygen mixture your injectors or carburetor will take.

I know that piston driven aircraft engines used water (actually a water/alcohol mix) to prevent knocks at one time. Apparently it slowed the combustion and the water to steam expansion is tremendous (think about a steam locomotive). I also know a guy that put a sealed type of jar on his car with the air part going to the vacuum port on his carburator and a tube going down below the water. The water would bubble and and the "moist' air got sucked into the vacuum port of the carburator. He swore he could run regular gas in a old muscle car with 11 to 1 compression with no knocking. (actually. this is the guy that told the old aircraft engines used this trick). He seemed like an honest type of person, but who knows. I met this guy at a car show once and have never seen him since. It seems to makes a little sense, but who knows. Anybody else ever heard of that trick? Seems to me that if it worked everybody (with old muscle cars, that is) would be doing it. He is the only guy I ever saw with that contraption.

^^^ Exactly. Water Vapor Injection. Proven to work (KC-135's used to run water injectors). Plans for this system have been in the back of Popular Mechanics since the 1970's. This isn't anything new, just a new angle to the same scam...
