Does any body know the feasibility of towing a Festiva (5 speed) with all 4 wheels down? Does the transmission receive enough lubrication while being towed in neutral?

There is no problem doing that. I put over 250,000 miles on my 90 L Plus towing it behind all kinds of trucks and motorhomes.Just put the trans in neutral and turn the key just far enough to unlock the steering.

there is or was a cool item made to bolt to axle, then to wheels, basically it works like the old manual locks of old 4 wheel drive vehicles,so your drive wheel spins on its own bearings, & when you unhook, you turn the "locks" that engages axles & drive. so this causes no wear other than tire on towed vehicle
