Hey so what is the easiest way to bump my 89 festival power? Was going to do a carburetor swap but would slapping a turbo on be more efficient? How easy is a bp swap? Can a b3 even handle a small turbo? Kinda like having it without one want enough to have some fun so she doesn't feel slow but dont want to go crazy or overboard just want quick easy bump up in power, any help would be awesome, thanks guys

You can't turbo a b3, the chambers have hot spots that burn through the piston tops. It can be done but they don't last. Even stock engines show signs of the hot spot burning all the carbon of of that area, adding cylinder pressure and heat is a recipe for disaster.

A ported head, header, escort carb swap, and full 2" exhaust will put you up at 70-75 hp. A b6 sohc is the easier and cheaper option, they are around 85 hp and bolt straight in.

Instead of increasing power maybe you can reduce weight and save gas at the same time? On a bicycle one pound in the wheels is worth eight pounds in the frame so look for aluminum rims? You could also clean and repack the wheel bearings and change the transmission fluid. Check the air pr3essure in the tires. When I overhaul a bicycle the difference is like riding on air. Good luck.

I've had injected, Weber swapped, escort swapped, efi . and b6 injected the injected b6 is definitely fastest, and totally reliable.I have no love for carbs on a festiva.
30 + Vehicle projects right now.7 Festiva/Mazda 10 GM IDK how many others, hope that helps explain all the stupid questions/shortcuts/interchanges etc. trying to liquidate so I concentrate on the good ones. Goal finish 1 amonth using as much stuff as I already have accumulated.

I thought if I do a exhaust first then no matter what else I do its going to benefit
