Has anyone swapped a 5speed into an 89 injected Festiva? Did you have any complications?

Not to an 89 (I know the distributor is different and the ECM is probably unique also) but have done the auto to manual in a 92.
Here is a link to my Rosie project but you wil have to page down a little to see the information about the transmission swap.
You will need to change the down pipe, the brace from transmission to engine and downpipe brace, the starter, transmission mounts. The pedal assembly under the dash of course. Engine wiring harness is different but I think you may possibly be able to adapt your atx efi one.
Hope you find someone who has done the exact swap. and can tell you more.

Yes I have done it. An auto to manual swap is the same no matter the year. Several posts out there. Good luck.Comment
