Will MK1 golf coilovers fit?

Hey all, will MK1 golf coilovers fit a festiva? Upon receiving Festiva/KAI camber/caster top plates, it appears that it came with the top plates for MK1 golf coilovers. Everywhere I have seen says to modify MK2 coilovers to fit.
