Our member is on the road braving the elements in the car he bought! He is driving from somewhere in KY to his home in Oh approx 350mis! Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but as he is speaking to me on the phone there is a terrible grinding noise in the back ground. The seller thought it had a bad wheel bearing but it seems to be tranny related. Along with the noise the check engine light is going off and on. But I reassured him "you are driving a Festiva" so hopefully he makes it back without any real problems.

Ya .. I talked to him for 1 hour , I was like what is that noise :lol: .. he said he thought it was all in the tranny , he stopped and put in 2 quarts in the trans , and that filled it up to the full mark .
He is going back home from Frankfurt ,Ky.
I lost count how many times the engine light kept going on and off .
He said it would hesitate or have a little stumble right before or as the light came on .
He had went 100 miles at that time , only 250 to go , I know he will make it ...yes it is a Festiva

No ..it is a 5 speed , just used a 10mm to pull the gear out to check it , and could not see any :shock:------------------------------------------------

Thanks to all my well wishers, you all knew it would make it!
The grinding in the tranny went away somewhere along the the trip (helps to have fluid in the tranny) but was masked by the tire roar!
Which, in my experience, is typically rear bearing related.
