I had two different ones, they are awesome, they were both five speeds but one had an EL (extra low) gear only when you were in four wheel drive though. They were fun cars and if i ever come across one again I will probably buy it

Ive not owned one ... but have been offroad in a mates a few times.

Truley awesome little wagons --- We had this thing through mud that some larger trucks couldnt get through!

Clearance underneath was bit of an issue, but it kept going and going and going

I'm intrigued. I did not know such a vehicle existed. If someone did a B6T/BP swap in one of those it would be awesome.

As standard in Australia, they have EFI 1.6L 4AC's from memory --- Basically they're a Corolla Wagon and engine with an AWD gearbox/drivetrain. ......... 4age/4agze isnt a hard conversion Not many are on the roads these days and they sell pretty quickly cos they're fairly sought after!

We also got the later model as well.

yeah id like to see some pics, dawg.

yes it would be interesting to see a turbo on that car.
they are hardly a rocket as they are, but do very well for what they were intended to do. some pple do upgrade to
a bit larger engine ive read.

here is a pic of an 85 tercel sr5 4wheel drive wagon.

Oh, Tercel. For some reason I read it Tracer. Disregard my comments about Mazda engines. ops:

mine both were 85's and they had a 1.5 liter carb motor. They were nearly as much fun as the festiva to drive, the el gear came in really handy when in four wheel drive because of so much power loss
