Impacts are good for tear down and rebuilding, you have to know how to use them and the better ones have a variable speed trigger. I would always use my torque wrench. A cordless is great for the Junk yard but I still prefer an good ole air wrench

Just a little off topic , BUT
When I worked at the Chevy dealer here in the 80's
We had a dope head that took a impact to do a head gasket recall on a 2.5 .
He R&R'd the whole job with the impact in record time , AND IT RAN !!
45 min from start to finish , I think the warranty time was 3 or 4 hours , which is usually less than enough .
I did freak out when I seen him working with the impact ------------------------------------------------

sorry to offend
" You know that old advice to use the search function? You can learn a lot about what is available by an advanced ebay search using cordless impact wrench as the key words, and searching the automotive category. "
"I'm not to sure why you put this in your thread. I don't think I'm known for not researching. "
Sorry Levitan, I did not mean to offend. But if you look again you'll see I said to search ebay not this site, so my comment was meant as a bit of irony, since the search needed to go sideways to another web site. Try the search on ebay and you'll turn up lots of cordless units to choose from. No discussion of their value of course.Thricetiva replaced Icetiva as the new ride
