  • Rear bearing groaning

I hope I posted this right...

This is an inner rear bearing, that just suddenly started "groaning" on me, last week. As you can (hopefully) see, the seal spring came loose, and wrapped itself inside the bearing.

Wierd, huh? Just wanted to share this.

    Cheers,

Interesting. I'm getting ready to do my bearings because I'm getting some groaning also. I wonder what I'll find.

Wow....Ive never seen a bearing suck up part of the seal before...great info. Wonder if the seal was properly removed/installed previously.

When I first got my car festdiva it didn't have a center grease cap. When I went to replace the rear bearings there was a bunch of clear plastic up around the spindle and bearing. I couldn't figure out where it came from. Then it dawned on me that someone had used some plastic in place of a grease cap and the plastic show how got sucked up around the spindle.
