  • What is so special about the Neon SRT-4?

I'm not impressed with it, since the front axles tend to wear out really fast. And the fact that Dodge cut some corners in designing the interior on it. There should be some redeeming qualities of the car, I don't want to bash on the car. I just want another opinion from the festiva forum since other places act too childish.

the srt-4 is special because it has a number after it instead of just letters, which indicates a "performance" trim level rather than just a "normal" trim level

I had a 95' Neon. Worst car I've ever owned. Because of that car, I have vowed never to buy another Chrysler product. Well, maybe a Viper!

To answer your question, I'd say they are special because they have a full line of performance upgrades from Mopar the can make the car insanely quick while still under warrenty. That and the performance per dollar is very, very good. Could have been a great car, but I think they went wrong with the styling and it can't live down the mistakes/abominations that were the previous neons.

idk, i HATE neons, but a buddy of mine owns a 2006 SRT-4, with a T3/T4 turbo set up with allllll the works, it runs low 12's, its %^$#ing fast.... but then again, he replaces halfshafts, headgaskets and intake manifold gaskets monthly.

I am not getting cockey here however...
                          maybe because...

The Dodge SRT-4 is the second fastest current-production Chrysler vehicle, and one of the fastest Dodges ever made.

                          22 city, 30 highway

                          weighing less than 3000 pounds

the ability to push well over 20 pounds of boost

the same folks who have created beasts like the Ram SRT10, 300C SRT8, and Viper Competition Coupe made this.

You want more numbers? Try 0 to 60 mph in about five seconds flat and the quarter-mile in the mid-12s at more than 110 mph

Either way like I said I am not getting cockey however I know that they are sweet @$$ cars and they run fast. I think that I would still rather have a G8 though.
                          Dan

I hear a lot of that happens, I haven't heard one that hasn't had that problem.

Personally i'm not a fan of neons, but i will completely agree the srt-4 is FAST, i had one blow the doors off my 300ZX at the track, but it was running 14's not 12 - 13's like you guys have stated (the one i raced must have been completely stock though)
