Where do the two battery terminals (+/-) attach to? Is it the starter and the alternator? I tried tracing them back but lost both in the wiring harness.

Battery Relocation?

I think the goes to the starter. When I relocated mine just cut off the battery terminal and bought a union and clamped the original cable and the new extended cable together and then taped the joint. For the negative I attached it to the stud inside the trunk area just under the hatch latch. This is where the rear light harness grounds to.

the negative only goes to ground? I thought it had to go somewhere else too. That makes the project much easier. Won't look too bad if I do it that same way.
Once I get the b6 running the battery will be my next project. Since I broke the battery tray(OX SMASH) when removing it, I don't want to trust it for too long. I already got a great deal on a battery box for $5. Same one they sell at shucks, but less than 1/2 price. The guy I bought it from had two pallets of em for some reason.OX SMASH!!

Just follow the negative cable to where it attaches to the frame and cut it off but leave the rest connected. Just cut off the battery cable. Then attach it anywhere you want in the car as long as it is metal and a good ground. Remove the paint in the area you will attach to.
I got my cable and connectors at home depot.
