I finally got a Festiva and I'm flying to pick it up on sat. I was wondering if anyone has any pointers to traveling long distances with the car. I'm basically going to bring a small tool kit with me just incase. I have 900miles to drive from Tampa to Carbondale. I'm excited to finally be apart of the movement and glad to finally own one. Thanks to all the people on this website I was able to find one and make it my own. We are in my opinion apart of the solution to the world's gas price problem.

Jon, you are new to the Festiva hobby, but you are already among the most devoted Festiva guys here. 900 miles to pick up a Festiva is among the most ambitious plans for picking up a Festiva I've ever heard.
Check your fluids and tire pressures before you hit the road, and you should be golden, as long as its been taken care of as well as you say it has.Axlander9289, brother of ThisVelologist

Great news, congrats! Sounds like you will have a fun ride ahead of you and plenty of time to get to know the car. My simple advice is to make sure that you have the proper air pressure in your spare tire and that you have the lug wrench.
IMO your most likely issue will be either a flat tire, blown heater/radiator hose, or wheel bearing failure - in that order.
I drove from Ohio to San Francisco once and the only issue I had was a popped alternator belt and fortunately I had a spare belt in the trunk.
Good luck!I'm going to come at you like a spider monkey!
