  • Whats a fair price for a decent festiva?

I'm shopping around for festiva's and trying to determine what to expect as a fair price.

Ones I'd consider buying are typically 100-150k miles. Any year. 4 or 5 speed. Not perfect cosmetically, but not rusted to death. Not needing tons of repair.

What should I expect to spend? I know it is possible to run across a nice one for $500 or so if you are lucky..... But what if I'm not lucky? I do not trust KBB at all on giving me a decent guide.

    Thanks
    J

Anywhere from 500 to 1500 depending on condition. I've noticed that Festiva prices increase as gas prices increase.

Theory is you get what you pay for. I'd say around the 500-700 range

this price range would get you a decent one, if you pay around $1000 for one, it "should" be in really good shape and need little for the road

          1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

Clean Festivas with 150K or less on them have been listed as high as $4,500 on Seattle craigslist. Despite the rain, cars don't rust here, but they do grow moss.

I'm paying $600 for mine, but the price differs from seller to seller. It's all about who you're buying from. Most of them very from $400-$1500, but if you get one already turboed or something else it could be more. Shop around and if you're crazy like me you'll travel far distances to get one.

Paid $100 for my first one with 153k miles, a slipping clutch and bald tires and various other issues in 2004 with gas at ~$1.60 per gallon.
Paid $1200 for my second in 2007 with a new clutch, wheel bearings, brakes, tires, cold air, 133k miles, and gas at ~$3.00 per gallon.

The key is to buy from someone who doesn't appreciate the car and just wants to get rid of it.
