  • 908 Miles left to get it home

I leave at 11am from Tampa Bay, FL and I'm driving to Carbondale in Southern IL. Wish me luck, this is a test of how strong Festies really are. Time to prove that they are the put together cars ever produced. I'll post pictures and fuel slips when I get back tomorrow night.

Good luck pal! I have to believe that a solid Florida festiva is worth the time and effort to transport to IL. Kudos!

With only the most minimal maintenance, Festy's will get you anywhere.
Drove across country in mine 2 years ago, and will do it again soon.
        Good Luck!!! Post some pics!!

I Dropped our buddy SIBladerunner off at the airport at 4 this morining, and sent him off on his way to Tampa to pick up his Festy.

He just called me from the road somewhere in Florida, and told me that the car was running great, strong clutch, no wheel bearing noise, quiet engine, but his speedometer had quit working. I figure it to be a broken cable. He was talking about stopping somewhere to get a new one, but I told him just to limp home. I remember from a few years ago, most of the parts stores had to order speedometer cables. I'll talk to him again tonight when I get off work, and get another update for you guys.

It's 908 miles to Carbondale. He's got a full tank of gas, half an idea how fast he's going. It's getting dark, and he's wearing sunglasses.

Just got of the phone with SIBladerunner again. He's 20 miles on the far side of Nashville, TN. He has about 3-4 hours to go. Still no speedo, and he's running rich, but I think He'll make it.

There's a Festiva drivin' legend from the south today, a man called SIBladerunner from down Carbondale way.
