  • READ THIS !!!!!!! would it work???

what would happen if you had 2 93 festiva's both red in color and you only plated one but drove both???
say one has a turbo swap and the other stock .
on weekends you drive the turbo and week days the stock.
now you would have to pull the vin number cause that in on the registration but other than that it is the same car.
if the cops pull you over they only see the rear plate and look in the computer to see if it is registered.
if you live in new york or really any big city what would stop you from having the two cars on the road at the same time??
unless you crashed on the same day how would they know??
i only wonder this as i have one good festy and 2 parts cars but today a guy called to sell me his .
it is the exact same as mine .
    what you think???

warning the above info is just some crazy idea that some crazy guy thought up and should never be attempted!!!!!

Sorry to bust your bubble man but that is why there are VIN's. Good luck if you want to do it but now you can't say you didn't know.
I'd buy that for a dollar!

By law the vin must be visible. No vin would make him investigate further.. open the door, there it is again.. raise the hood and there it is once again..
Most likely you would get away with it, but that 1 cop that does complain will be pissed off if it doesn't match.. in Texas when cops see a ficticious anything they are required to seize the plates or stickers etc.. whatever is ficticious and give you a ticket. So you would lose the plates and stickers to your original car and wouldn't be able to drive either..

My vin is off on my black car because of my dash mod, and I've been pulled over a bunch and never had a cop say anything.

My dash has been replaced and the door tags removed but the vin is stamped on the firewall. I am saving the original dash so that I can use it next year in my other festiva to pass the e-check. I have also been thinking of doing the plate thing and only register one of my festivas. Thought of trying to find some way for a quick change plate holder so I can swap them quickly from car to car. The only problem is if there is an accident and an insurance investigator actually checks into the vin #'s.

i have yet to ever have a cop look at any vin number .
but if you drill out the vin in the dash and reinstall rivets in the plate then drill bigger holes the plate would fall into place looking like it was untouched.
the other vin numbers that are in other places like engin block firewall ect are really not important as they only check the one in the dash.
i had to safty a truck and it never did pass as it had a hitch welded to the frame .
the guy said that any frame mods would never pass so he sold me a vin from his old truck and it was on the road.
now i am sure the "man" would say this is illegal but unless they pull over and inspect every car on the road buy means of first finding a list of all the vin numbers on any given car and inspecting them and somehow making sure they all match .
            how can they stop this??

            just wondering.

just a reply to the other post saying that if there was an accident the may look into the other vin numbers..
              well....
my friend totaled his and insurance gave him 400 bucks so i am thinking do they even care about our 15 year old cars .

just keep all your other vins so if you do crash it you can plate the one you didnt crash.
