  • What's everyone's setup?

I posted this in a thread on the MX3 forum. I thought a thread like this is a good idea, we can get an idea of what parts are working for other people. The setup in my Festiva is:

    Drivetrain:
    - G25MR Transmission
    - 323GT Axles
    - Custom fabricated shift linkage
    - OEM Mazda Pressure Plate, Disc, and TO Bearing (clutch needs to be changed soon)

    Engine:
    - B6T bottom end, 230000km, perfect compression and spotless combustion chambers with visible cross-hatching (gotta love Mazda)
    - B6DE Cylinder head with VICS intake manifold
    - B6T Exhaust Manifold
    - Hybrid VJ11 Turbine (MX6/Probe) with VF11 Compressor (Subaru)
    - Saab Blackstone aluminum intercooler
    - Custom fabricated 2.5" mandrel bent intercooler piping
    - TurboXS recirculating BOV
    - Turbosmart Single Stage boost controller
    - B6DE engine control electronics (MAF, distributor, solenoids, etc)
    - 2.5" downpipe, 3" cat, 2.5" piping with Flowmaster 60-series muffler (baffled, but nice and quiet)
    - Custom made 2.25" compressor inlet pipe with K&N filter.
    - Mk2 GTI radiator with custom plumbing and FAL slim high flow cooling fan.
    - Battery relocated to passenger rear corner.

    Ignition:
    - Stock MX3. I have a Blaster SS coil, I just need to install it. Will probably install a MSD 6AL with launch control at the same time.

    Fueling:
    - 1994 MX3 engine wiring harness, relays and ECU
    - B6T 330cc fuel injectors with modified injector harness
    - Prelude VTEC fuel pump (will soon be swapped out for a Turbo Supra 195lph pump)
    - GReddy EManage
    - Zeitronix Wideband System

    Suspension and Braking:
    - Apex Racing 22-way dampening and height adjustable race coil-overs, custom fitted to my car (original application for a Mk3 Golf)
    - FMS front control arm/sway bar urethane bushings
    - FMS Stainless steel braided brake lines on all four corners
    - Brake swap from a Ford Aspire, which includes 9.2" front discs, larger brake pads, larger rear drums, and complete rear axle with integrated sway bar.
    - FMS cross-drilled and slotted front rotors, and zinc plated rear drums.
    - FMS aluminum front upper strut tower bar

    Interior:
    - 323 GTX front seats (amazing, better then my buddies ITR seats IMO)
    - 323 GT instrument cluster
    - FMS short shifter
    - Autometer Phantom Boost and Air Fuel gauges, Stewart Warner EGT and Fuel Pressure gauges.

    Exterior:
    - FMS fiberglass hood with Sparco hood pins
    - Shaved gas door lock
    - Shaved side moldings
    - Shaved antenna hole
    - Recent paint (OEM colour)
    - Ford Focus centre mount antenna
    - OEM hatch spoiler
    - Tinted windows
    - Flush mounted front turn signals
    - Body coloured rear hatch moulding
    - 14x6" Enkei/Mazda wheels (from a 1999 Miata), Falken Ziex 512 tires on the rear and Dunlop SP Sport A2 tires on the front. Slicks are Mickey Thomson Drag E/T in a puny 20x14x6" size.

Car ran 13.3 @ 102mph on slicks, 13.8 @ 106mph on street tires with a completely different setup. Used to be a complete B6T engine with B6T engine controls. Only mods were cone filter, open exhaust, VJ11 turbo, but with no increase in fuel or boost. No intercooler as well. Also running soft KYB GR2s which definatly hurt my launches. I can't wait to get the car up and running again...hoping for mid 12's this year but more importantly I want to start autocrossing. My car is well known in my area for its dragstrip performance, now its time to move onto racing that involves turning.

Engine, drivetrain, fuel delivery, etc. = Stock
      Paint = Altered

Basically everything except the paint and the wheels are original!
