i'm curious about them since i keep seeing them around online parts stores, they say that they're 50 state legal and that's good for me since i can't get away with much when smoging it. does it help more that the standard cat?

Looking for another Festiva -
Well, I have one, plus a Magnaflow muffler on my B6/ATX '93GL. I can't tell you how it does on emissions, however, since I've never been tested. I would think it would work just as well as the stock cat, only with less backpressure.
Now if you were to buy some no name homemade cat from a guy with no teeth, then you might have reason for concern!
I bet there have been enough folks with Magnaflow cats who would have been really mad if their cars had not passed E-tests. And we'd know about it!
