Hey, quaddawg, if you are racing the clock, do not worry about the pedal bracket, I do not have to have it, but they seem to be getting hard to find, apparently the guys at the J/Y's are good at snapping the small bracket off, at least around here. I came up with a workaround back in FEB that has lasted just fine, I was just wanting a just in case backup....
However, on another day when you have time, maybe then we can work something out....
NOT to say I do not want it, I will take it if you have the time, but do not kill yourself trying to get it out, better to help someone in real need than me at this point in time, ya know?

Time is short, I am waiting to leave to go to the JY right now, the guy doesn't get there till 10 now.. used to be 9.

The car will be crushed the minute I am done, literally, he is holding it for me this morning only.. I will do my best to get what I can... trouble is, it's raining at the moment, and a JY in the rain is no fun..

SO, I will report back to the pm guys as soon as I get a chance, and see what I could salvage.

                  sad sad news....

They didn't know I was going to strip the car, SO... thinking they were doing me a FAVOR... they cut the engine/trans out last night with a torch and bolt cutters.... it was lying on the ground waiting for me when I got there..

I asked where the car was...... Crushed, in a pile of other crushed cars......

                  sorry..

to make matter worse, reverse is out of the transmission that was in it..... ugh... what a week.

Oh man! Those junkyard guys have no appreciation for automotive greatness. I was crossing my fingers for those seats too! Oh well, life goes on I guess.

If they only knew how much $ they just threw away. You would think people in the junkyard / salvage business would try to sell parts instead of crush them. Guess they are clueless that there might be a market for festiva parts. Whats scrap value on the power mirrors and the center console ? fifty cents ?

The reason they are scrapping them so quickly is that scrap is up right now. And besides us there really isn't a big demand for Festiva parts, I guess thats both good and bad.

They seem to sell pretty good on ebay. Ive sold nearly every festiva part Ive ever listed. There is $500 worth of parts in any complete festiva. It may take awhile but you can sell almost every good part thats on one.

^^That may be true, but most yards don't list their stuff on Ebay. If they did they could make an even bigger fortune. And that would probably apply to most all cars. Believe me I wish the yards around here kept Festivas, they scrap them right away whre I live.

It makes me angry, whats salvage about crushing cars. They even knew they had a potential parts buyer in guaddawg and they still cant wait to destroy it.I dont get the mentality, esp from a business point. Is there even $75 worth of scrap metal in a festiva ? Besides, you could sell some parts and still have the scrap value.
