Maybe someone just put a K&N Filter sticker on the casing?

The part number for carbed cars is E-9181 and was still available through Autozone and Advance last time I checked. The part number for EFI cars is 33-2222, that was available also.

The thing is, would it be worth it? I mean, would i see any mpg improvement or feel any performance difference? If it's a mpg increase it may be worth it; just saw regular at $3.97 here.

The nice thing about K&N air filters is that you can clean and reuse them. Never need to buy a filter again. And Festiva filters are getting hard to find in some places.

True that. It took me forever to find one for my car. When I bought it, there was no air filter in it. Finally found a Motocraft through a Ford dealer, and a couple weeks later I found a Purolator as a spare.

Darn, you beat me to it. First thing I did when I got my carbed 88 was look it up in K&N catalog, than the same thing for my FI 90. Any counterman with half a brain should be able to look up damn near ANY application with all the univ. filters they offer.
                        Going old school...
