when i click on a link that goes to a index of a older post it asks me to put in username and password.. but it says invalid user... whats up with that.?

post the link here so we know what you're trying to access. The old forum you had to be a member to view it. Maybe that's the problem.

All the threads were transferred to the new site, but the links still go to the old site. I can't say why your user name and password do not access it, mine still does. Did you change passwords between the old site and the new one? Or register after April 19, in which case you will not have a user name for the old board?Originally posted by GenevaDirt View Post
I converted all my saved threads to new bookmarks on the new board. I found them using the advanced search function, using "search title" only and entering the title of the old thread as the key words. It worked great.
In this case the thread you want has the title Online Calculators. A title search on that will turn it up on the new board. The problem for you in general will be you don't get to see the title of the thread until you sign in and it is opened.

so it is not a direct swap in address providing some easy shortcut.

Ice is correct... Any link that was posted in the phpBB format is now "invalid" because the path is different.
