did all manual fi festys come with a tach in their cluster? mine has no tach and was just wondering if it was original...thanks

Mine has no factory tach.

It was an extra option in the "higher end" models.

You can pick them off EBay or in a lot of local junkyards for pretty cheap with the added tach.

and you can get them with the orange text from the early model festivas or the white text (backlit) from the later models. the white ones are better imho, but also alot harder to find.

Very easy to install, roughly 15 minutes tops if you know what you're doing.

Hell, I can change mine in about 3 minutes now.

IMO, the stock tach will look nicer.

yeah it's an easy install. at worst you might have to run the wire for the tach lead to the coil, but you would have to do that with an aftermarket tach too. i had to run the wire for mine, as i have the crappy early festiva harness that wasn't prewired for anything...

i want it but dont think i can take u up on that offer any time soon. i have other things planned first...let festivaca have it. im sure i can find one when the time comes. while were on the subject....how do you get the damn thing out? i have a light out back there that only lets me see the left side of my guages....can hardly tell if im doin the speedlimit at night. thanks for all the info guys

Just go to Wil's Article where there's a link to his web page, where you'll find a how-to to do the cluster swap, it's really easy. The bulbs are supposed to be #74, but when I tried changing them that size was just a little too big, so I had to use the bulbs from my old gauge cluster
